Gaza (QNN)- At least one Palestinian was killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting a vehicle in central Gaza, with seven Palestinians killed on Wednesday from Israeli attacks across the enclave, as Israel continues to bombard Gaza despite the US-backed ceasefire.
On Thursday afternoon, an Israeli strike targeted a vehicle in Deir al-Balah, killing one Palestinian and injuring eight others. The victim’s charred body was seen near the burned-out vehicle.
Israeli air strikes killed at least seven Palestinians across Gaza on Wednesday and wounded at least 35 others. Among the wounded was an elderly Palestinian woman whom Israeli troops shot west of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
Two Palestinians were also killed in an Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in southern Gaza.
The killing comes amid a sharp escalation in Israeli attacks across Gaza, which have killed more than 1,360 Palestinians since the so-called ceasefire took effect, including more than 310 children.
“A ceasefire that leaves people under attack is no ceasefire. Israel’s killing of Palestinians continues, and so does the genocide,” Euro-Med Monitor said last week.
Israel has also occupied most Palestinian territory in Gaza since the ceasefire and now controls more than 60 percent of the enclave, with Netanyahu even saying that the aim is to increase this to around 70 percent.
A number of senior Israeli officials have also stated their intent to fully ethnically cleanse the territory of Palestinians.
Earlier this month, Israel's Defense Minister, Israel Katz, declared that Palestinians will be forcibly displaced from Gaza
Over 74,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023 while nearly 175,000 have been reported wounded. The actual death toll is believed to be higher, as thousands more Palestinians are buried under the rubble of buildings destroyed by Israel.
